Peterborough, ON – A big thank-you to the community, our event sponsors, volunteers, airport staff, and all the visitors that made Air Legends at the Peterborough Airport a huge success.   The event took place over the course of two weeks drawing more than 16,000 patrons culminating with a number of displays and activities on the civic long weekend.  The event featured local food vendors, emergency service vehicles, emergency training demonstration, Flying Colours Pavilion static aircraft display, two WW II bombers and a charity run on the runway benefiting Brock Mission.

The event also accepted donations in lieu of a grounds admission fee.  All donations supported the Brock Mission reBuild campaign (construction of a new shelter in Peterborough).   The event and  community donors helped to raise $5,000 toward Brock Mission's campaign.

Peterborough Airport General Manager Trent Gervais states “The turnout to Air Legends exceeded expectations and set the stage for next year’s 50th anniversary celebration”.

Brock Mission Executive Director Bill McNabb comments “We (Brock Mission) would want to express our appreciate to everyone who worked very hard to put on this event, and to all those who gave so generously to our reBuild campaign.  It was a privilege to be involved”
