Infrastructure Improvements

With The Peterborough Airport having seen over $35.0 Million dollars of infrastructure improvements since 2010, there is no better time to explore new opportunities in the aviation sector.

Major Expansion Project

On October 16, 2009, an official funding announcement was made, citing two-thirds of the $21.0 million ISF Airport Major Infrastructure Capital Project. The governments of Canada and Ontario, along with the City of Peterborough, each invested $7 million through the Infrastructure Stimulus Fund program for the major expansion program. An additional contribution of $7.6 million was made by the City for a total investment of $28.6 million. The expansion project has set the stage for economic growth in the Peterborough region, opening the door for job creation and new business opportunities.

Our newly constructed comprehensive aerospace industrial park includes:

  • A commercial/industrial apron expansion
  • Completion of a new central apron
  • A spacious air terminal building
  • Maintenance facilities
  • Fully serviced airside and groundside commercial/industrial development lots
  • An expanded general aviation area
  • Runway extended from 5 000 to 7 000 feet with PLR of 10.6,188,000 lbs, accommodating narrow bodied aircraft
  • Extended Bravo taxiway with holding bay

Following the Peterborough Airport major expansion project, a second phase of expansion was completed in 2013 with an additional City of Peterborough investment of $6 million.

The 2013 second phase of expansion included:

  • A 2000 foot paved crosswind runway and supporting parallel taxiway
  • Bravo taxiway extension of 1000 feet to midpoint of runway 09-27
